Menicucci Vini Toscani Chianti Riserva 2016 D.O.C.G 13% (Red) Farming of grapes: This wine is obtained from the Sangiovese grape, grown in the old vineyards selected in the municipalities within Tuscany. The thermal values characterize a rather warm texture, with little annual rainfall and very high-temperature ranges; ideal conditions that have a positive influence on the quality of the grapes. A Row orientation system is used for planting. The harvest takes place during the second half of October. Vinification: After careful selection, the grapes are de-stemmed, then, very gently, crushed, causing as little damage as possible to the skins. The grapes are then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10-15 days at a temperature ranging between 25 and 28 °C. The wine is aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks (temperature controlled) then further aged in French oak barrels for 2 years and then an additional 6 months in the bottle prior to release. Being a 2016 vintage bottled in 2020, this means that the wine has already matured in the bottle for 1 year instead of 6 months.
