Alzavola Rosso 2021 14.5% (Organic Red) (Vegan) Farming of grapes: This wine is obtained from a blend of the Montepulciano grape and Merlot, grown in the old vineyards selected in the municipalities of Orsogna, Filleto and Guardiagrele. They are small towns in the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The soils are made up of textured lands and generally end with a limestone substrate and rocky outcrops sparse. The thermal values characterize a rather warm texture, with little annual rainfall and very high-temperature ranges; ideal conditions that have a positive influence on the quality of the grapes. Planting density is 4000 plants per hectare. A Guyot orientation system is used for planting. The harvest takes place during the second half of October. Vinification: When in an advanced state of ripeness, the grapes are harvested manually at a temperature ranging between 22 and 24 °C for 15-16 days. The Montepulciano is harvested later. Both the Merlot and Montepulciano are aged 6 to 8 months. The Merlot in oak barrels and the Montepulciano in stainless steel tanks.
