Capomandra Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva D.O.C 14.5% (Red) Farming of grapes: This wine is obtained from the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grape, grown in the countryside of Ortona, in the province of Chieti. At an altitude of 250 m.a.s.l, exposure of the vines from South, Southeast. The thermal values characterize a rather warm texture, ideal with conditions that have a positive influence on the quality of the grapes. An Abruzzo trellis and spurred cordon training system are used for planting. The yield per hectare is 80. The harvest takes place at the start of October. Vinification: After careful selection, the grapes are de-stemmed, then, very gently, crushed, causing as little damage as possible to the skins. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks. It is then aged in oak battles for over 18 months and then further in the bottle prior to release from the cellar.
