A lovely Red Wine derived from a blend of Aglianico and Sangiovese grapes grown on the Sannio Benevento hillsides, harvested at full maturity around the month of October.  The wine produces aromas of red fruit and floral. The taste is dry, harmonious and smooth. It’s a wine for all meals but favours red meats, pasta dishes, cured meat and grills. Ideally served at a temperature range of 16-18°C.

Description

Solopaca Rosso Sannio 2019 IGP 12.5% (Red)

Farming of the grapes: This wine is obtained from Aglianico grapes and Sangiovese, grown in limestone-clay soils at an altitude of 150-350 m.a.s.l. Located on the slopes of the Regional Park of Taburno-Camposauro. An espalier farming system is employed giving a yield of 180 hectares from wines with an average age of 15 years. The harvest takes place during the month of October.

Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and conferred to the winery. There follows the de-stemming and soft pressing. The vinification is carried out by maceration with the skins, which are continuously re-submerged into the must for 10 days. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in large oak casks for at least 6 months, finalising with maturation in the bottle.
