A stunning Red Wine formed within the strict DOC guidelines. Derived from the precious Barbera grape, vinified in contact with the skins for a long period and at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in oak casks for 18 months. This results in an intense ruby red colour. Its aroma is intensely fruity with flavours of black mulberry, liquorices, musk and with occasional hints of spices. The flavour is typically aromatic, clean, dry and smooth. This wine goes excellent with meats, barbeques and rich pasta dishes. Ideally served at a temperature range of 16-18°C.

Farming of grapes: This wine is obtained from the Barbera grape, grown in limestone-clay soils at an altitude of 150- 350 m.a.s.l. Located on the slopes of the Regional Park of Taburno-Camposauro.  An espalier farming system is employed giving a yield of 80 hectares from vines with an average age ranging from between 10 to 25 years.  The harvest takes place during the month of October.

Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and conferred to the winery. There follows the de-stemming and soft pressing.  The vinification is carried out by maceration with the skins, which are continuously re-submerged into the must. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in large oak casks for at least 18 months. The ageing process then continues in the bottle.
