An excellent high-quality wine coming from the vineyards of the fabulous region of Loire Valley. The wine has a luminous garnet-red colour. On the nose, it reveals red fruits (raspberry, red currant), flowers and green bell peppers. This wine is elegant, light, fresh, balanced and presents fine and velvety tannins.  This wine pairs excellently well with beef, grilled pork and venison. Ideally served at a temperature range of 16-18°C. (Decant)

Winemaking Process: 
The harvest is generally late in summer, due to its northerly location, usually in early October. For the Saumur rouge, the grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and left on the skins for up to two weeks at a temperature of 28 degrees C. After ageing in underground vats, the finished wine is bottled about a year after the vintage.
Production Method

The density of 4,500 to 5,000 vines/ha. A Guyot pruning system is used.

Ageing Potential:

A fresh wine to be drunk young. 5 years at the most.

Vineyards Location:

Appeliation AOP Saumur is located in the central Loire valley. This region is specifically known for producing lighter but high-quality wines. The chalky soil of Saumur provides excellent drainage making it an ideal area for viticulture.

Decant: Decanting will help soften the wine’s tannins. The wine will taste softer and richer with 30 minutes of decanting (or pouring through an aerator).
